AffectedI read this article from Straits Times Online.
Boy jumped over CCA15-year-old wanted a switch but parents tried to dissuade him.
http://www.straitstimes.com/Breaking+News/Singapore/Story/STIStory_307353.htmlI wonder if teens nowadays are really under too much stress? And some seem not to have any venues for them to vent their anger on, or to destress, or even to share their thoughts.
A boy with such a bright future... it is really a waste that he put a full stop to his life in his manner. If you have read the article, there's this part stating what the boy smsed his friend..
in which he said he was going to commit a crime - jump off a building as a 'final feat of rebellion' and let his craziness be known to the world. 'Will you as a friend accompany me on this day?' he had asked.Personally, i do not think that he has committed such an act all just because he is not given the permission to switch from track to drama. Personally la. I guess stress and the desire to have freedom and make decision has accumulated in him for long, till he couldnt take it. And perhaps he has been also trying to hide it from everyone, not allowing his thoughts to be shown on face or actions.
Whatever it is, we cant turn back time. I hope the parents can now see things in a different light and show more concern to the younger sis. And i hope the track teacher will not feel guilty over this.
And i seriously hope that teenagers now can be much much much more appreciative of their life and people around them. Ought to set your priorities right.. balance your life.
