Happy NIU year :D
Before i started my beauty sleep last night, i looked back. I used to be a girl who is extremely excited over CNY, to the point that i couldnt sleep. Excited not because i get to wear beautiful clothes, not excited because i get to receive many angbaos.. but excited because i get to play poker cards! hahaha. I used to enjoy the excitement of peeping at the cards, wishing that i can get blackjack every round. haha so childish!
I dont know if you have such a habit, but i used to carry a pen with me during CNY. Whenever someone gives me an angbao, i will hold it tight in my hand, sneak into the room, and write his/her name at the back of the angbao. Rude as it may seem, i mean no harm. It is not meant for comparison la.. i also dont know why i did that. I was just modelling after my fav uncle! hahaha And my uncle still has this habit now. He writes our names on the angbao meant for us. I think that's a good way of reminding himself who has he not given! haha.
After so many years, from a normal poker player, i have unknowingly upgraded myself to the banker. But the excitement is no longer there.. im playing because i play every CNY. I'm playing because i want to keep my grandma entertained. And i'm playing because i'm supposed to be the banker. hahaha. So these years, i have cultivated another habit. IE, to pass the money to Ah Ping [my cousin] and employ him to be the banker... while i sit there n watch them have fun, or to help my grandma look at her cards. I find it happier this way somehow.
I was kept occupied by my little cousin, Wayne, this year. A 3-yr-old cheeky boy.. he sticks to me like super glue and i enjoyed his company. Because he never fails to surprise me with his replies! Ming took some photos for us but that lazy pig is so lazy to convert the file for me now hhahaa. Ming, "tt lazy pig" is quoted from ur bro, Ping ar. hahahaa :p
Anyway, i continued my yearly affair with BSSB.... we carried on with our CNY midnight movie as usual. Went Tampines GV to watch that hongkong show. Not as nice and funny as expected. And the aircon broke down. But actually it wasnt torturing. I just dont feel cold... but i din sweat with my sweater on either. We onli got to know that the aircon broke down after the show, when there's a GV staff standing at the entrance, distributing complimentary tickets to each of us, as a form of compensation. SO..... ya quite a good deal hahaha
Ok, time for bed. i hope i can have a good sleep tonight. Havent been having a good deep sleep!
